Your South Florida Personal Injury Law Firm

Personal injury law encompasses any intentional or accidental act which causes harm or damages to a person. The damages that are recoverable include past and future lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was created by Congress in 1990. The purpose of these laws was to guarantee to persons with disabilities the right to be treated the same as a person without a disability.

Family Law

Divorce: is the marriage irretrievably broken? Only you or a judge can decide. Florida is a no-fault divorce state, which means that if you want one, you will get one!

Answering Your Personal Injury Questions

Our potential and new clients often have very important questions they want answered before they decide which personal injury attorney to hire. We pride ourselves on being straightforward and interactive with all of our potential clients.

Note: Please click on the question below to reveal the answer.

How much will it cost for me to hire your firm?

NO attorney fees or costs are due from you until we have established that we can represent you effectively. Moreover, we provide a FREE consultation to evaluate whether or not you have a case. We operate on a contingency fee basis.

That means that you do not need to pay us anything out of pocket. We will only take our fee once we have won your case. In some cases, you may be able to recover money from the person who caused your injury. If so, we take a percentage of the money we recover for you at the end of the case. If we do not recover any money for your injury, we do not charge you anything for our attorney fees or costs. It’s that simple.

What is the “Statute of Limitations” on personal injury cases?

The Statute of Limitations is the time period within which we are required to file a lawsuit. It's typically six years after the incident but can vary depending on the circumstances and the facts of your case.

If you believe that you've been injured in an accident and it has been more than six years since the incident occurred, then we recommend calling our office immediately so that we can get started on getting you compensation for your injuries and damages.

Why do I need a lawyer?

If you've been injured in an accident, you need a lawyer. And not just any lawyer, but a personal injury lawyer who can help you get the compensation you deserve for your injuries and medical expenses.

Hiring a personal injury attorney is one of the best decisions you can make if you've been hurt in an accident. After all, why would you want to go through all of that pain, stress, and uncertainty without someone who knows how to help?

How long will my case take to resolve?

There are many factors that determine the time it takes for your case to be concluded. However, no exact answer can be given. Additionally, every personal injury case has aspects that are directly dependent on third parties, such as insurance companies and law enforcement, which can add to the time it takes for your case to be over.

Often times, the greater the extent of the injuries, the more complex the case will be; and will, therefore, require more time to thoroughly litigate. You can generally expect us to settle your injury case in under twelve months, if your case is settled without having to file a lawsuit. If your case doesn’t settle pre-suit, and we must go into litigation, the entire process can last between twelve months and three years or more.

How much is my case worth?

It's hard to say how much your case is worth in its first phases, especially early in a case. Case value will vary based on the clarity of the negligence against the Defendant and the severity of the injuries that have occurred.

Our goal is to handle your case with integrity, detail, and vigor, which will maximize your recovery. We'll help you determine if there's any damage to your car that isn't covered by insurance, or if there are other factors that could affect our recommendations for compensation.

How will I get medical treatment and how will it be paid?

If you or someone you love has been injured in an accident, we can help.

We work with doctors in a variety of specialties who specialize in treating the victims of accidents. This means that we can help you choose the doctors who are best suited to the treatment you need. As far as paying for the treatment, your car insurance will pay up to $10,000 for medical treatment. If your health insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid applies, they may cover some or all of the cost of your care.

Our law firm is skilled at making sure all available sources of payment are considered and used in order to maximize your recovery at the end of a case.

What People Say About Our Firm

“Our son was killed when he was rear-ended by a speeding teenager. The car was loaned to the teenager’s mother by a car dealership. The mother was considering purchasing the car at the time. Mr. Fields discovered that the dealership had forged and backdated ownership documents to make it look like the mother had actually purchased the car the morning of the crash. Mr. Fields successfully pursued the dealership for forgery and fraud and was able to obtain a $1,900,000 resolution for us.”

“Our daughter was severely hurt when a church-owned van ran her over. The church claimed it had no insurance or money. Mr. Fields took on the case and went to trial. He successfully obtained a verdict but the church continued to claim that it had no money. Mr. Fields discovered that the church was trying to sell its property to a developer and he stopped the sale unless we would be paid. When Mr. Fields was finished, we recovered all of our verdict plus interest and attorney’s fees. Our daughter got the medical treatment she needed and is now in college!”
